Teto's Fund
For the Spay and Neuter of our Animals
Teto's fund is important because over population is a huge problem right now, and reason for the large amount of animals we take in year after year.

These are some ordinary house hold items that
are needed around our kennel. This helps us keep our animals and their
environment clean and safe. If you would like to help us out with
these supplies, contact us at 419/658-2298
Monetary Donations:
- General Fund
- Teto's Spay/Neuter Fund
- Duke Fund for Medical Expenses
We are in dire need of strong wire puppy room
dividers. We
have a puppy room that needs to be divided into separate areas. Please call
the shelter and talk to Sarah. 419-658-2298 |

Duke's Fund
For the Sick and Injured Animals
Duke entered the shelter as a stray with an advanced stage of mange over his entire body. His skin was cracked and he had sores over most of his body. How anyone could allow an animal to suffer in such condition was unthinkable. By his bleak eyes and unwagging tail, you could tell that Duke never knew a kind word or loving touch.
He underwent treatment at a rescue where he received love and lots of treats along with daily soothing baths and medications. Everyone was thrilled to see his eyes light up and that hairless tail wag. We started a fund for his medical care, but Duke did not survive. His condition was so poor the best of medical care and love came too late.
To memorialize him we decided to continue with Dukes Fund . Since April 2004 we have used money from this fund for sick and injured animals which come into our shelter. This fund also helps to supplement heartworm treatment for adopted animals which have the disease. We appreciate any donation made to this fund so lives can continue to be saved.
The Tree of Life
Our Tree of Life is an impressive donor recognition tree in our reception room. It gives special recognition to contributors of $100 or more and recognizes the different levels of giving.
Contributors of $100-$500 are recognized with a bronze leaf; $500-$1,000 a silver leaf; and $1,000-$2,500 a gold leaf. Donors of $2,500-$10,000 have an acorn on the tree and donors of $10,000 or more are recognized with a stepping stone. When your total contributions reach the next level of giving, we will replace your old leaf with a new one to represent the highest level of giving you have achieved.

Become a Kennel Sponsor
Help costs of running the shelter
A Kennel Sponsor pledges a specific amount each month for a year to the animal shelter. Sponsorships start at $20/$50/$100 or more a month. You or your organization will get a sign with your name or business name on a cat or dog kennel for the full year of sponsorship.
Your donation each month allows the shelter to function. It gives the community and area business an opportunity to support the animal shelter.

We Recycle!
You can help us raise money simply by bringing us your used inkjet or
laser jet printer cartridges and cell phones! For each used printer
cartridge or cell phone, we receive points from Funding Factory - which we
then can turn into dollars to help support the care of all the dogs and cats
at the Defiance County Humane Society. This is a simple and very successful
way to help us raise much needed funds for food and medical care for our
pets!
We also accept pop cans and turn them into
the local facilities for cash to help defray the cost of our daily expenses.
